Grips on film sets store their gear in giant, easily accessible and secure carts. I always thought they were cool, but the carts cost upwards of $1,000, and I prefer the look of wood over metal, so I set out to build something like them for myself.

 

I found the plywood for this project in a dumpster outside of a woodshop, the 2"x 4"s came from the sidewalk outside my apartment.

I wanted my version to be unique without losing practicality. The final result is a sturdy, portable piece of furniture that remains simple but intriguing. Supports more weight than I know what to do with.
